We believe in simplicity: we collect only what's strictly necessary to provide our service, we never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.

2. What Data We Collect
- Photos you upload — your dog's photo, used solely to generate your portrait. Stored temporarily for up to 7 days for customer support, then permanently deleted.
- Generated portraits — stored on our image hosting provider for delivery and support purposes, deleted after 7 days.
- Email address — collected at checkout by Stripe to send your order confirmation and portrait. We do not independently store it beyond what Stripe retains.
- Payment information — processed exclusively by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe retains transaction records automatically as required by law.
- Delivery address & phone number — only if you order a physical print or framed product. Collected via Stripe Checkout, used solely to fulfil and ship your order.
- IP address — used solely to enforce fair usage limits (2 free generations per day). Not linked to any personal profile. Deleted within 24 hours.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To generate and deliver your AI portrait
- To process your payment and send your order confirmation
- To fulfil and ship physical print orders
- To handle customer support requests
- To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or advertising.
4. Data Sharing
We share your data only with trusted service providers strictly necessary to operate our service. Each provider has its own privacy policy:

- Print fulfilment partners — the companies that produce and ship your physical print or framed print. We share only what's needed to fulfil your order: your name, shipping address, and the portrait file.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal data.
5. Data Retention
- Uploaded photos & generated portraits: deleted within 7 days
- Order & payment data: retained by Stripe automatically. French accounting law requires invoicing records to be kept for 10 years — this is managed by Stripe on our behalf, at no action required from you.
- Delivery address: held by Stripe until your order and any applicable return period is complete
- IP address logs: deleted within 24 hours
6. Cookies
DogRoyalPortrait uses only strictly necessary technical cookies (session management, usage limit enforcement). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie banner is required for strictly necessary cookies under EU law.

8. International Transfers
Some service providers (OpenAI, Cloudinary, Stripe) are based in the United States. These transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
9. Children's Privacy
DogRoyalPortrait is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
